Course Master Plan

Commonwealth Golf Club is excited to announce world leading architect, Renaissance Golf Design (RGD) to prepare the Course Master Plan (CMP). Commonwealth have been working with Brian Slawnik and Tom Doak to produce an illustrative concept plan for Commonwealth, that restores the golf course to the original architectural intent. Find RDG Master Plan below.

The first tranche of course works begin on Monday 22 August with the overall works taking place across two growing seasons in 2022 and 2023. The course will remain open to our Members to play nine holes and we will welcome back our visitors and corporate guests in February 2023 until August 2023 to then start the second tranche, to all be complete in February 2024.

Tom Doak has great admiration for Commonwealth, remarking in his highly regarded 1994 publication “The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses”, that CGC was a course that any golf architect should study and one of 31 courses that would be among the first he would take a good friend to play.
