“My passion is golf and I take a tailored approach to each student, ensuring that they get the same enjoyment that I do, in their continued improvement. Whether it be seeing the raw beginner hit that first well struck shot, or watching the advanced player shooting their career best score, this is what makes my role all the worth while. I do not believe that there is ‘one way’ of playing this game and this is becoming more evident with the players we are seeing come through today.
As a teacher, I strive to bring out what the individual does naturally and then nurture that talent into helping them be an accomplished golfer. We all have a Golfing journey and I have always ensured that I understand the ‘why’ in the Golf Swing. I believe it is so important that I help all my students understand their own swing in order to progress to the very best of their ability.
I have worked with and alongside many of Australia’s top coaches and players, including; of Matt Cleverdon, Euan Walters, Steve Bann, Andrew Rice, and Steve Giuliano, which have helped my own game and developed my own style of coaching as well.
I am available most days for individual lessons and have developed different types of packages that can be tailored to your specific needs. Weekly clinics that are on offer subject to availability. I am also happy to discuss any other golfing needs to understand how I can best assist.”
John Wade’s golf credentials are well established, with a long list of personal achievements including Eisenhower Trophy team representative, tour victories in Ireland, a two time Vanuatu Open winner and the holder of the course record at both Victoria GC and Dunbar Scotland. John has played in the Open Championships 2005 at St Andrews and 2013 at Muirfield and in the Senior British Open 2019 at Royal Lytham St Anne’s.
Competing on the PGA tour since turning professional in 1992, John enjoys combining his tournament play with the coaching and teaching of golfers of all ages and abilities. John’s coaching philosophies have been developed through his playing experiences under the guide of some of the leading coaches in the world.
He has been tutored for over 30 years by respected and renowned coaches including Bradley Hughes, John Davis, Bruce Green, Steve Elkington, Steven Bann, Dale Lynch, Gary Edwin and several leading UK professionals.
This influence, combined with his experience as a touring professional playing tournament golf at the elite level, has provided John with a balance in his coaching between developing solid technique whilst also emphasising sound course management skills and the importance of the mind in getting the most out of the game for golfers of all levels.
John has worked at Commonwealth since February 2010, both in a Golf Operations role and as a teaching professional, and is available most days to provide tuition.
Members can book a lesson by contacting the Golf Shop direct on 9575 0444 or by the convenient on-line tuition booking system, which operates under the same methodology as the on-line golf booking arrangements.
